If you follow me on social media or have checked out the embedded Twitter feed on my website (–>), you’ll know that I’m fundraising this week for the Earth Science Women’s Network (ESWN) through an event called Science-A-Thon! ESWN is a non-profit international peer-mentoring network dedicated to supporting current and future scientists. For me personally, this organization has been incredibly helpful as I’ve navigated my early career. They host one of the best Earth science job email lists, es_jobs_net, where I found the vast majority of ads for jobs that I applied for, and their Facebook and website discussion groups have provided invaluable advice on job interviews, teaching, dealing with problematic collaborators, etc. Not to mention the events that they sponsor at conferences (GSA, AGU) and various other awesome things that the organization does. I encourage you to check out my social media accounts while I participate in #dayofscience (but really I’m making it a whole week of science!), and if you feel that you can, support my fundraiser for @science_a_thon here!
